Precious and merciful Lord Jesus , intervene on behalf of your children. Comfort those who mourn. As your body we experience this loss in a corporate way. If one suffers we all suffer. For those who have been martyred, Lord “that they might obtain a better resurrection (Heb 11).” Give us the grace and power to forgive so that, “thy kingdom come on earth as it is in heaven.” We confess our ungodly desire for revenge because you say “vengeance is mine, I will repay.” “Forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us.” Help to remain focused on you and you alone in this time of world wide persecution, “looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith.” Lord, help us to “run with patience, the race that is set before us” knowing this “that He that shall come, will come, and will not tarry.” Though concerned and even frightened at times about our future “give us this day our daily bread.” We ask this because we are assured that “we are more that conquers through Him that loved us.” And we know this because we are “seated in heavenly placed in Christ Jesus.” Victory is assured “because thine us the kingdom and the power and the glory forever.” Amen
